How to Use Korg Pa User Bank Manager to Compile and Preview Your Style Banks
Korg Pa User Bank Manager is a software program that allows you to create and manage your own style banks for your Korg Pa series keyboards. With this program, you can drag and drop files on your PC and check the content of your style banks without loading them into your instrument. You can also preview your style banks with a playback function and edit your favourite banks of Pa2X and Pa800. In this article, we will show you how to use Korg Pa User Bank Manager to compile and preview your style banks.
Step 1: Download and Install Korg Pa User Bank Manager
To use Korg Pa User Bank Manager, you need to download and install it on your PC. You can get the latest version of the program from the developer's website[^1^] or from other sources[^2^]. The program is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and 11 and requires a 32-bit system. The program is not free and costs $62.75[^2^]. Step 2: Launch Korg Pa User Bank Manager
After installing the program, you can launch it by double-clicking on the Korg Pa User Bank Manager icon on your desktop or by searching for it in the Start menu. The program will open with a main window that shows a list of style banks on the left side and a list of styles on the right side. You can also see a toolbar with buttons for various functions at the top of the window.
Step 3: Compile Your Style Banks
To compile your style banks, you need to have some style files on your PC. You can get style files from various sources, such as the internet, CDs, DVDs, USB drives or other keyboards. You can also create your own style files using programs like EMC Style Works or Korg Style Creator. Once you have some style files on your PC, you can compile them into style banks using Korg Pa User Bank Manager. To do this, follow these steps:
Click on the New button on the toolbar to create a new style bank.
Enter a name for your style bank in the dialog box that appears and click OK.
Select the style bank that you just created from the list on the left side.
Drag and drop style files from your PC folders onto the list on the right side. You can add up to 128 styles per bank.
Repeat these steps for each style bank that you want to create.
Step 4: Preview Your Style Banks
To preview your style banks, you need to have a MIDI device connected to your PC, such as a keyboard or a sound card. You also need to have a MIDI driver installed on your PC that supports MIDI output. Once you have these requirements, you can preview your style banks using Korg Pa User Bank Manager. To do this, follow these steps:
Select the style bank that you want to preview from the list on the left side.
Select the style that you want to preview from the list on the right side.
Click on the Play button on the toolbar to start playing the selected style.
You can adjust the tempo, volume and transpose of the style using the sliders at the bottom of the window.
You can also change the variation, fill-in and ending of the style using the buttons at the bottom of the window.
Click on the Stop button on the toolbar to stop playing the selected style.
Repeat these steps for each style that you want to preview.
Step 5: Save and Export Your Style Banks
After compiling and previewing your style banks, you can save them on your PC or export them to your instrument. To save your style banks on your PC, follow these steps:
Click on the Save button on the toolbar to save all your style banks in one file with a .SET extension.
